Swimming at the Wildflower Inn and in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom
Do you enjoy taking a dip on a hot summer day? Enjoy some of the most scenic swimming spots in the Northeast Kingdom!
We do have a pool right here at the inn, but you might enjoy swimming Vermont style at some of our nearby lakes!
Willoughby
Lake
Our most scenic glacial carved lake! The lake reaches depths of over 300 feet, so the the lake is colder than others in the area, but perfect swimming on the hot summer days! There are 3 beaches on the lake. The north end beach is perfect for the family with just a short drive to a country store. The south end beach is smaller with a campground store across the road. There is also a secluded beach through a path in the woods for adults only. Route
5A north, about 20 minutes from the inn.
Crystal
Lake
A public swimmming beach with bathroom facilities. Route
5 in Barton, 15 minutes northwest of West Burke.
Island Pond
A nice swimming beach with bathroom facilities. Located in Island Pond/Brighton - about 30 minute drive north from the inn. You'll want to go to Simon the Tanner while you are there for some great shopping! There is also a little shop to get beach toys right in town a Clyde River Outfitters.
